In today's business podcast, I will share the inspiring story of Kyle Maynard, author of the book, No Excuses.

Kyle has only 3 joints in his body - his neck and two shoulders. Yet he is a state wrestling champion. He is Arnold Schwarzeneggar's hero, and has been featured on Oprah.com, and here is why.

Kyle Maynard lost his first 35 or so consecutive wrestling matches - and never quit!

His coach was so impressed with his attitude that he developed new coaching moves just for Kyle's body and abilities. He then became Geogia's State Wrestling Champion. He wrote his book and took a hiatus from his status as college student to join a high-profile inspirational
speaking tour.

What does Kyle have to do with Brain Storm! Business Podcast?

He proves, once again, that we are limited only by our own attitude. If you have not put your business brainstorming ideas to the test, or started developing those ideas into real products and services, there is "no excuse". The only thing stopping you from achieving your business goals is your unwillingness to persevere until you succeed.

I would like to buy 5 Brain Storm! listeners Kyle Maynard's book, No Excuses.

For the first five (5) business brainstormers who email me at penny@1stpod.com about tell me about the business idea they are committed to pursue in 2007, I will purchase Kyle's book for you for the holidays. I want you to have a "break-out" year in 2007, and there's no reason that it can't happen!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

This is Lori Arriaga of Christian Women’s Resources with this week’s edition of Words for the Week brought to you by Encouraging Audiobooks.

With yesterday being Thanksgiving and people being much more aware of what they have to be thankful for, I wanted to share with you a devotional I wrote titled Attitude or Gratitude? With the scripture focus being Let us be thankful and so worship God in Heb. 12:28 not only in the month of November but the whole year.

Attitude or Gratitude?

“Let us be thankful and so worship God ” (Heb 12:28 NIV)

What is your life characterized by – an Attitude or gratitude? If you think about it, it is impossible to truly worship God when we have an attitude. Too often we can find ourselves complaining when things go wrong or don’t turn out as we wanted or expected things to. We all have a tendency to complain from time to time and when we do we definitely are not able to worship God because only when our life is filled with gratitude can we truly be thankful and so worship God as it says in Heb. 12:28. I don’t know about you but I want to be characterized as a person who lives a life of worship and is filled with gratitude in my heart rather then that of an attitude.

In order to live a life of worship we must begin by transforming our attitudes to that of gratitude. We do this by putting our focus on God where it belongs instead of ourselves or our problems where the enemy does his best to keep our focus. As we read and meditate on the Word of God we begin to focus on God and see the Word at work and give thanks to the Lord for all He has done and will do in our lives. Once we know and have tasted His goodness, we even find ourselves giving thanks and praise to him in midst of our difficulties.

When our focus is where it should be, we are able to truly Worship God and say:

But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ as it says in 1 Cor. 15:57 Yes, we can have victory over our sinful nature, people and things that are not pleasing to God because it is His power through the Word of God at work in our lives.

We are also truly able to say:

But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him as it says in 2 Cor. 2:14. Yes, we can be an effective witness regardless of our past or weaknesses because we see how He uses those very things to reveal the glory of God in our lives to others.

And last but not least we truly can say:

Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift! As it says in 2 Cor. 9:15. He not only gives us the gift of salvation but also the wonderful gift of His grace. When you change your focus to God instead of your circumstances, you begin to see His grace that He so lavishly gives us on a daily basis giving us much to be grateful for.

Therefore, let us be thankful and have a heart filled with gratitude so we may truly worship God!

Heavenly Father, I thank you for your indescribable gift of salvation and grace that you so lavishly give us on a daily basis. And in the midst of our difficulties, help us to always say, But thanks be to God! Who gives us the victory and leads us in triumphal procession in Christ. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

And in closing, I’d like you to ponder whether your life is characterized by an attitude or gratitude? If it is characterized more by an attitude begin today to transform your attitude to a heart of gratitude instead by putting your focus on God and choosing to say: But thanks be to God while in the midst of your difficulties.

Until Next week, this is Lori Arriaga of Christian Women’s Resources with this week’s edition of Words for the Week brought to you by Encouraging Audiobooks.

In today's business podcast, we will look at a great way to create prototypes of inventions you create, and doing what I call piggyback marketing.

I will start business podcasting by talking about eMachineShop (http://www.eMachineShop.com). They have created software you can download and use to draw a template of your invention, including choosing materials. Then eMachineShop will give you a quote and create it for you.

We also talk about the Google desktop sidebar - I just like the photo rotator.

I had heard about it, but I don't like Google's indexing of my own computer and having access to it. So I tried and and took off the indexing. Now I get to view my photos from my trip to England, which brings back great memories. I must admit, I like the calendar, the news and the Scratch Pad, too. If you want to check it out, just go to http://www.Google.com.

Next, we discuss the business implications of whether or not Sony's PS3 is a success or a failure.

Fast Company has a great diagram of who will be affected by the fate of the PS3. Supposedly, Sony has a lot invested in this new game system, including their HDTVs, Blue Ray DVD Format, music and related download offerings. Some people think they could go under if they have misjudged their customers. However, many companies are rooting for its success, as they stand to profit as well.

Lastly, I tell you about my long awaited project that doing Brain Storm! inspired me to do.

I can't tell you to take your ideas and make them concrete if I don't ever do it. So I did it! I designed the project, hired the programmers, pre-sold several of them, found additional applications for it, and will hopefully go live before the end of November. I explain more about it in the podcast, and you can see some pre-release (still in development) tutorial videos I share with my present Directory Owners at http://www.PodcastingDirectories4Sale.com. If you're interested, let me know, as I have some other practical applications for it now!

Until next week, don't just brainstorm, DO something about it to make it a reality!

Today's Comedy Clip of the Week comedy podcast brought back some great memories of 2nd grade - which I'll share with you at the end of the podcast.

However, before you hear my story, you'll hear the story of Erica and how her baby brother, Luke, was born. Listen carefully for her versions of "umbilical cord" and "placenta" (I especially love that one!).

So thanks to Joani for sending this to me - love ya lots!

And to everyone else, keep it clean, keep it funny!

In today's business podcast, we will discuss new ideas for office space - as a business opportunity and a helpful idea for your own business.

There's a new movement toward renting office space by the hour. This is not just for out of towners, but also for local entrepreneurs who work from home. If they don't have an office for entertaining potential clients, this can come in handy.

We brainstorm about potential business opportunities that would come from being the person renting the office.

We also discuss related products and services that can benefit such a business. What would an office that is rented by the hour need? Some existing franchises even offer a cafeteria, massage and spas, conference rooms and video conferencing.

We also discuss ways to retain branding uniformity while blending in with the locals.

Nokia hired the same designers that Steve Jobs hired to create the Apple Stores (the same that sold the iPods...). They found a way to retain control over the stores to provide uniformity, while still allowing for localized individuality.

Next week, we will talk about a great place to get one-offs for your brainstorm ideas without going broke, and also about the brainstorm project I took from design to production! You inspired me...<smile>

Thanks for the feedback, Philena! That's interesting to know that Lawyers use the office-by-the-hour plan. That makes sense, though. I used to work as a Legal Secretary long, long ago, and they spent most of their time in dictation and preparation, and very little time meeting with clients. But when they did, they met with clients in a conference room. The appearance of the conference room and the coffee and amenities were very important.

I'll have to check out copyright laws with syndication. Something new is happening to me for the first time - someone is syndicating my Words For The Week and commenting on it in order to attach words to it that I don't promote (sexual things, etc.). There's no information about the person on this site, so I can't even contact them. And since I syndicate my content, does that give them the right to put it on their page? Granted, it is giving me more visibility, being on another site, but I don't want to be associated with the very non-Christian things this highjacker is putting with my Christian Podcast.

Very interesting podcast, I finally get to listen to it, seen my son is up rather late. Well.. The office space thing, I know lawyers use ALOT. Esp here in Chicago. I really didn't think about home business owners, rather nice idea. I don't want alot of ppl coming to my house either. lol

Anyway.. What really got my attention was the RSS syndications. You know when I first started my BWAHMS site, the only thing I was thinking about was, "Man, I have so many blogs. Good thing I'm learning CMS so I can pull my feeds together on this site." Didn't really think about other feeds until I pulled a few as a co-publisher of other quikkonex channels. Then I thought about have all the content without the efforts. But an interesting topic would be what's being talked about on WebProNews. Copyright laws with syndication. I don't know if this is part of the whole net neutrality thing, or what, but it may be a problem when it comes to pulling feeds on other sites freely.

I will be bringing you once again a recording from the Virtuous Women's Retreat. Today you will get a chance to listen to a presentation that was titled The Culture of Heaven by LaTara Ham-Ying. In it she really challenges us to look at how the enemy has fooled us to thinking we are in unity with one another but in reality we are far from it and by using the term Cultural Diversity which I had been using on my website how that is a term that only fosters division among us. There is no unity or oneness in using that term which is why we ought to start looking to the culture of heaven in order to bring unity among the different cultures.

But before you listen to her presentation, I wanted to be sure to let you know about her upcoming Synergize Your Life Retreat this December 4th through the 8th of which I will be giving a presentation on communing with God. It is going to be a wonderful time where we can take a break throughout our week once again listen to some great inspirational speakers to synergize our lives. You won’t want to miss it. 1st Podcast Publishing is offering a one-time offer to the first 8 people who respond.

Penny Haynes is preparing to launch a 1-day, 10-person only Podcasting class where Penny actually helps you set everything up and teaches you what to do. When the day is done, you will not only have everything in place for your first podcast (hosting, keywords, domain, software, RSS feed), you will even record, edit and mix, ID3 Tag, upload and post your podcast with Penny's help.

Penny has developed a new small group curriculum, but wants to test it before going public with it. She already has 2 students, but would like to fill the class with 8 more people to make sure she can work one-on-one with all 10 students during the classes. So the first 8 people who email customerservice@1stPod.com with a desire to attend will receive the 8 hour class for only $97.97 (1/2 off).

Of course, the class will be recorded for later review, and Penny will only be an email away for additional help. You can find out more about it at http://www.PodcastingConferences.com. The class will be held this Saturday, November 11th, from 10am EST to 6pm EST. She is teaching Podcasting for PC Users only this time, although she hopes to expand it to Mac classes once this podcasting course is established.

Again, this is a test run of the course, and this public offer will not be made again. First-come, first-served only!

In today's Brain Storm! business podcast, we will again talk about the changing marketing strategies and technological innovations targeting Baby Boomers.

First, we discuss a very Boomer-centric television commercial I viewed this past week. How many of you have tried to convince your parents to get a cell phone? Well, this commercial shows a relieved daughter purchasing her mother a cell phone that the mother actually likes and will use.

From this, we learn that marketing to boomers also entails marketing to their children.

If you can convince the adult child that their parent needs this and can use it simply, then you have most likely made a sale. Adults want to make sure their parents are taken care of, and as they age, they want to be notified of any emergencies or potential concerns. Making sure your parents have a cell phone helps ease the worries we children sometimes have.

Next we discuss the marketing techniques of a 39 year old entrepreneur, and how he WISELY doesn't make a move without the approval of his mother.

No, he's not a "momma's boy", although the article header would make you think so. He has just used his closest contacts (which includes his Baby Boomer mother) to do his initial market research. It proves to be very inexpensive, and very effective. It also stops him from working on projects that are too advanced for his mother (such as VOIP).

Learn about his technological advances and what we can glean from his marketing strategy and the marketing strategy of the new cell phone manufacturer (note, it was NOT one of the mobile carriers that created this!).

Of course, we brainstorm about how we can use these strategies for our own businesses, so dig in and make the most of today's business podcasting.

Penny Haynes, 1st Podcast Publishing & the Online International Podcasting Expo

P.S. The 40+ audio/video podcasting seminars will hopefully be released next week. Access to the download library will be $49.95, and the 2-CD set will be $59.95. Stay tuned for more information right here on Brain Storm!

Today I wanted to share with you another Inspirational Workshop from the Virtuous Women's Retreat I hosted last week that was given on the controversial subject of Bible Prophecy.

Rev Michael Bresciani of www.americanprophet.org shared with us 4 reasons or excuses why many of us shy away from learning about bible prophecy and why it should be considered just as important a topic to study as any other.

Be blessed as you listen to Rev Michael Bresciani as he shared at the Virtuous Women’s retreat

After listening to Rev Michael Bresciani’s message, be sure to also check out a very thought provoking Video Link on the Rapture. Scroll down to the video on the webpage and click the arrow button to play (you may need to wait a moment for it to load and start)

I pray that if you have been someone who uses one of the above 4 reasons or excuses to avoid the very subject on bible prophecy that you will begin to see the importance of learning it and begin to do so.
