We use a March 2006 article in Fast Company as the springboard from which we launch our business brainstorms today. We cover three the following three (3) issues:
As Barbara Ehrenreich states, "a growing culture of incompetence where who knows whom and who likes whom weigh more than getting the job done.
"Fewer and fewer people will want to be employees of corporations, because corporations don't have anything to offer. Corporations don't provide security and provide fewer and fewer benefits, " according to Avram Miller.
Kevin Roberts explains, "The dominant interface of the future is the screen. TV...mobile devices, computers, and big Times Square billboards...I've got 2,000 creative people at Saatchi...I want them producing content across all the screens."
Internet telephony and messaging systems offer every entrepreneur the ability to contact anyone anwhere in the world (that has an internet connection), and do business with them.
Corporate businesses that do business in the "good 'ole boy" tradition will be outpaced by the Chinese and Indian cultures that stress talent and track record. Slowly, the "factory mentality" of having to travel to work during set hours will fade away. Media agencies will have to revamp how they do advertising, not only to meet the demands of multiple viewing screens, but also to contend with the digital download audio phenomenon.
We discuss brain trusts and networking groups, virtual assistance and Virtual Assistants, advertising on a level playing field with the corporate giants.
Everything we know about business is changing, and will continue to change. The question remains, "What will you do to make the most of the impending metamorphasis?" Will you finally take those business and marketing ideas out of the closet and put them to the test? Will you take a chance and move out of your cubicle to make a name for yourself, and give yourself the opportunity of a lifetime - to work for yourself and do it successfully?
Only you can answer those questions - but you are invited to listen in as Tammy and I discuss these issues in today's business podcast.
If you have a desire to join me for a brainstorming session, either solo or in a group, I wish you would contact me. It's so much more fun than doing it myself. Contact me on the http://www.BrainStormPodcast.com site, either by adding a comment or by QMTPing me. Or Skype me at PodcastPenny or email me at customerservice AT 1stpod.com.
Tell the women in your lives that this online event will not only teach them about how to utilize podcasting for their businesses, but also include sessions to feed their mind, soul and spirit! And yes, there will be shopping...hehehehe.
Until next week, remember to DO SOMETHING about your business brainstorming ideas!
Thanks to a friend of mine from England, we have a great comedy video. I actually watched it a couple of times, it was so funny. So enjoy!
I want to invite you to let the women in your life know about the upcoming Women's Podcasting Expo, July 14-16, 2006. We will have podcasting seminars, opportunities for networking and sessions to build up women's minds, souls, spirits and bodies. Oh, and yes, there will be shopping!
We continue to discuss retail business success stories, starting with a customized products company. This offers personalization and customer control, while "outsourcing" some of the work to the client.
We also talk more about selling more to one person instead of one thing to many people.
From selling bulk coaching hours, to offering a home study course series and contractual technical support, we brainstorm about different ways of pricing and offering our products and services. Retainers and flat fees seem to appear very advantageous to purchasers.
The first 3 people to tell me which holiday is the 2nd most celebrated (70% of Americans celebrate it), and 2 of the products we brainstormed about for that holiday, will receive a free CD of all of the Seminar Recordings from the International Podcasting Expo!
I also want to let you know that we are having
an online information meeting about the upcoming Expo at 9pm EST, Tuesday, May 9th.
Then we are having our first free monthly online Seminar and Networking event on Tuesday, May 16th, at 9pm EST.
Today we continue our interview of Judith Bronte, Christian Romance novelist extraordinaire! (smile)
We will upload the first chapter of Abigail's Journey in the next item on this podcast/blog, so please download it and enjoy it, and if you want more stories, please go to http://www.JudithBronte.com.
Comedy Clip of the Week! The Menace of Sesame Street, by A Cast Of A
Thousand.
You will never think of Sesame Street of any of its characters in
the same way ever again!
At the Women’s Podcasting Expo, you can attend seminars and conferences about podcasting, win prizes, and network with other attendees, exhibitors and sponsors all in the comfort of your home!
