In this business podcast, we will learn more about how people are creating business ideas stemming from the aging Baby Boomer market.

Insurance companies and peripherally related businesses are scarce on the Inc 500 list (not even 1 whole page), but those that have made it have come up with some innovative business ideas.

Don't want to pay insurance premiums anymore?

Then sell it to someone for more than it's face value but less than it's payout! That's what one company is offering Baby Boomers.

Other business lessons include using technology to streamline business and costs and pass that savings onto the customer.

This allows businesses to serve previously untapped markets. Without the advantage of technology reducing the cost, some segments of the market wouldn't even have access to certain supplies and services.

We looked at one IT Company in preparation for the massive group of them we will study next week.

There we find that re-inventing the wheel doesn't pay, and that working with others can propel you far ahead of the rest of the pack. Adding sales staff can also make a huge difference. Can you say "70 million dollar difference - in one year"?

Also, another friendly reminder for you to join us at the International Podcasting Expo, April 21 - 23, 2006.

If you have an internet connection, you can attend! We have lined up some great speakers and trainers, starting with the very successful Dr. Tony Marino of Podcast Radio Show, America Web Works and Podcast Media Services. Want to know if he knows what he's talking about? Try Googling the words 'podcast marketing', and see who you find there!

***SPECIAL NEWS: I want to do a live version of Brain Storm! during the Podcasting Marathon, and to give you all some incentive to participate, the first 10 people to go to the http://www.BrainStormPodcast.com site and tell me they will participate (and actually do!) in a live Brain Storm! Everyone deals with struggles and discouragement.

This collection of scriptures has been mixed with music, and lasts about 25 minutes. It was designed to be played over and over, so you can let the scriptures permeate your soul and your spirit, and you can fill yourself with the Word Of God, as the scriptures suggest. I hope this will be the first of a collection of thematic scripture recordings I create and offer at www.EncouragingAudiobooks.com. I hope you enjoy today's podcast.

Deuteronomy 1:11

11May the LORD God of your fathers make you a thousand times more numerous than you are, and bless you as He has promised you!

Deuteronomy 15:6

6For the LORD your God will bless you just as He promised you; you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow; you shall reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over you.

Joshua 23:5

5And the LORD your God will expel them from before you and drive them out of your sight. So you shall possess their land, as the LORD your God promised you.

Joshua 23:10

10One man of you shall chase a thousand, for the LORD your God is He who fights for you, as He promised you.

2 Samuel 7:28

28And now, O Lord GOD, You are God, and Your words are true, and You have promised this goodness to Your servant.

1 Kings 8:56

56Blessed be the LORD, who has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He promised. There has not failed one word of all His good promise, which He promised through His servant Moses.

Thanks to my favorite pet lover, Kim Bloomer of Aspenbloom Pet Care, and the Animal Talk Naturally! podcast, for this great video!

I'm not sure it's really a comedy clip, but it's great fun. Kim must be really, really connected, because she gets the absolute best videos! Thank goodness she forwards them to me, and I share them with you!!! (smile)

Just a reminder inviting you to join us at the International Podcasting Expo (http://www.InternationalPodcastingExpo.com), April 21-23, 2006.

It is an online, world-wide, around-the-clock event that is the first of its kind. Attend a live Podcast Marathon, Online Podcasting Seminars and Conferences, 7-minute Speed Networking events, all in our cross-platform audio conference rooms. Miss a seminar? No problem! We are recording them all and posting them in our Seminar Library, so you can download them whenever you get there.

Dr. Tony Marino, of America Web Works, the Podcast Radio Show, and Podcast Media Services will be presenting a seminar that addresses the one topic on everyone's minds - how do I get more listeners, and how do I monetize my podcast? Dr. Marino is actually someone we can trust to tell us the truth, because he has honestly done this himself. Try Googling the words 'podcast marketing' and see who comes up! And he will teach us the same tools and techniques to do the same thing for our own podcasts.

In this Business Podcast, we will discuss lessons learned from the Human Resources companies on the Inc 500 list.

Human Resources services never go out of style. Good economy or bad, people are hiring temps. These companies have made the business decisions that have put them at the top of the heap.

Niche marketing toward smaller businesses is working for some of these companies.

2 of those companies featured in this business podcast were focusing on companies with less than 100 employees. They handle benefits, flexible benefits, payroll. Obviously, there is something profitable about that segment of the market.

Convenience and value added services are another cause of success.

Being niche oriented in your scope of target market doesn't mean you can't treat your clients in a holistic manner. Remembering that business clients are people, too, can help you think about what would make their lives easier, even it if has nothing to do with your business. There's a lesson here for all of us.

We even talk about security issues since 9/11.

Background checks are up 60% since 2000, and one company is making a bundle on that. In addition, we will also discuss the difference between pricing your services or products according to your bottom line versus according to their perceived value.

Sorry about the problem with the links for the past several weeks.

One listener, Joe, has (very appropriately), put me through the ringer on this. He is so right - I need to double-check my feeds on other software! So, thanks to Joe, I'm checking everything nowadays - TWICE! <smile>

Just a reminder to invite you to join me at the International Podcasting Expo, April 21-23, 2006. This online event will be easy for anyone to attend! There will be business podcasters there, so come and learn from everyone!

There are points in your life when everything comes to an apex and you realize - this is it - either I'm going to finally succeed, or make a phenomenally big fool of myself!

And that's what I share with you today, my D-Day, which occurred this week. 2 major opportunities came up, and I share my internal struggle (and panic?) about the possibility of failure balanced with the knowledge that failures are just lessons learned.

In today's Encouraging Audiobooks' Words For the Week Podcast, I will share about the joy of re-connecting with God's Spirit and the ability to hear His voice.

I had a strange, a little frightening, but in the end, positive situation that happened to me. Although it was a little unsettling, the fact that God spoke to me during it was a comfort that made the scare all worth while.

It had been a long while since I had heard that voice in the valley...

which is why His voice was even more welcome. I had forgotten what it was like for him to be like a voice behind me telling me to go to the left or the right, or explaining the spiritual realm behind a situation.

It's only a shadow...

That was what I heard Him say, and that was a phrase I used to hear Him tell me when I was closer to Him. It meant that what was occuring was only meant to scare me, but was a shadow - something with no substance. It was not really an issue, He said, and I had to trust Him about it.

I prayed I would find favor with the people concerned...

but I was still trusting Him. And when Monday came, His word came true. Just a shadow. Not really an issue at all.

So I encourage you to keep on seeking Him and His voice, that He may guide you and comfort you every day.

Despite over 14,000 podcasts at the PodcastingNews Directory, Apple's 4th quarter iPod shipments topping 14 million, and the term 'podcast' being declared Word of the Year for 2005 by the New Oxford American Dictionary, podcasting remains a relatively unknown concept. Utilizing an online Virtual Expo Center, the International Podcasting Expo will make Podcasting information, resources and services available to anyone with an internet connection.

(PRWEB) March 21, 2006 -- Podcasting is exploding. Apple shipped more than 14 million iPods in its 2005 4th Quarter, according to Robert McMillan, IDG News Service. Forecasters predict up to 60 million people will be downloading podcasts by the year 2010.

IPE_200x150.jpg

What does this mean for podcasters? It means that their targeted listening market is increasing every day. People with iPods, as well as MP3 players, PDAs and Cell Phones with digital audio players, are looking for quality content in their areas of interest.

Although the Podcasting Community includes such large organizations as IBM, Oracle, Purina, Philadelphia Eagles, Purdue, Notre Dame, CBS, Nintendo, and the NYPD, a majority of the world still has not heard the word "podcast", nor does it understand podcasting's usefulness for education and business, as well as entertainment.

The International Podcasting Expo, April 21 - 23, 2006, hopes to change that. This online Podcasting Expo will be a 48 hour, around-the-clock event, taking place within an online Virtual Expo Center. Therefore, anyone in the world with an Internet connection can attend.

Events will include a 48 hour live Podcast Marathon in a 500 person cross-platform audio conference room, with Internet presentation and recording capabilities. Podcast listeners can attend (and even participate in) live podcasts with their favorite podcast personalities. The recorded podcasts will be immediately posted on a special Expo Podcast feed.

Expo Attendees can participate in seminars and conferences, which will be held in another cross-platform audio conference room. All seminars will be recorded and posted in the Seminar Library, so late-comers can still review the sessions they missed.

Expo organizer, Penny Haynes, of 1st Podcast Publishing, wants this to be a grass roots expo that allows any podcaster from any country to participate. "The Expo is presently looking for international podcasting hosts to lead seminars and conferences in their own languages, so they can reach their own market during their own time zone. These chosen International Hosts will receive a free Exhibitor booth for their assistance in expanding the reach of podcasting around the world."

The first Exhibitors to come on board include Kelly McCausey of Work At Home Moms Talk Radio, Tammy Munson of Republican Women Talk Radio, Shane Matsumoto of Paradigm Lost Productions, and Lisa Boyd of Zeteo Solutions. The International Podcasting Expo is truly "By Podcasters and For Podcasters."

2 Timothy 2:12-14 (New International Version)

    12if we endure,
we will also reign with him.
    If we disown him,
    he will also disown us;
    13if we are faithless,
    he will remain faithful,
    for he cannot disown himself.

    Genesis 15:6-17

6 Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness.

7 He also said to him, "I am the LORD, who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to take possession of it."

8 But Abram said, "O Sovereign LORD, how can I know that I will gain possession of it?"

9 So the LORD said to him, "Bring me a heifer, a goat and a ram, each three years old, along with a dove and a young pigeon."

10 Abram brought all these to him, cut them in two and arranged the halves opposite each other; the birds, however, he did not cut in half. 11 Then birds of prey came down on the carcasses, but Abram drove them away.

12 As the sun was setting, Abram fell into a deep sleep, and a thick and dreadful darkness came over him. 13 Then the LORD said to him, "Know for certain that your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own, and they will be enslaved and mistreated four hundred years. 14 But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will come out with great possessions. 15 You, however, will go to your fathers in peace and be buried at a good old age. 16 In the fourth generation your descendants will come back here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure."

17 When the sun had set and darkness had fallen, a smoking firepot with a blazing torch appeared and passed between the pieces.

These are the scriptures I refer to in today's thoughts on God's faithfulness, even when we are not faithful.

I know that I am very thankful that God continues to hold on to me, even when I feel I am too weak to hold onto Him. His presence and voice is a comfort, even if to scold me, as it means He has not abandoned nor given up on me. He still loves me...and He still loves you.

GOOD: In Richardson, a Texas State Trooper was running radar. He had a perfect spot to watch for speeders, but he wasn't getting many. Then he discovered the problem. A 2-year-old boy was standing up the road with a hand-painted sign that read "RADAR TRAP AHEAD!" The officer then found the boy's young accomplice down the road with a sign reading, "TIPS" and a bucket full of money. (And we used to just sell lemonade!)

BETTER: A motorist was mailed a picture of his car speeding through an automated radar post in Plano, Texas. A $40 speeding ticket was included.

Being cute, he sent the police department a picture of $40. The police responded through the mail with a photo of handcuffs.

BEST: A young woman was pulled over for speeding. As the Texas State Trooper walked to her car window, flipping open his ticket book, she said, "I'll bet you are going to sell me a ticket to the Texas State Police Ball" He replied, "Texas State Troopers don't have balls." There was a moment of silence while she smiled and he realized what he'd just said. He then closed his book, got back in his patrol car and left. She was laughing too hard to start her car.

"No one needs a smile as much as a person who fails to give one."

In this business podcast, we will discuss how the health industry is topping the Inc 500 list.

I would have thought that actual medical companies, hospitals and pharmaceutical companies would top the list, but not so. I was surprised again to see the peripheral industries making money OFF OF the health industry.

Some people will pay even MORE money for medical services - WILLINGLY!

We will learn about medical "boutique" practices, where people will pay a premium to get same-day service (as if people weren't paying enough for medical care!) But it will bring up some great points, not only on the huge market of aging baby boomers, but also on the very concept of what makes people willing to pay more money than normal. One word: Convenience!

If you like these podcasts, then I invite you to come and find other podcasts you will like just as much, at the International Podcasting Expo, an ONLINE event that ANYONE can attend, as long as they have an internet connection!

You can meet your favorite podcasters, attend seminars and conferences about podcasting, participate in our live 48 hour Podcasting Marathon, and also network in our 7-Minute Speed Networking sessions in our audio conference room.

And tickets are only $11, so anyone can afford to come! We are hoping to have a full, international contingency on board, so we can network around the clock. Come and get involved!
