In this podcast, we speed-brainstorm our way through 4 great business articles and ideas.

I finally gave in and bought myself something - a hammock! I've been wanting one forever, and in a fit of passion, purchased one. Not just anyone, but the nicest one (I don't do things in a small way...hehehe). Well, I did skimp on the accessories (knock-offs), but the hammock is the real deal. What does this have to do with Brain Storm! and business news?

I've been reading my backlog of business news magazines, and I'm trying to get us up to speed!

Today we cover 4 things:
  • The use of forums as the source of customer service, and where to get free forum software.

  • If you're interested in finding a Chinese import/export contact, there's a very trusted source that can do it for only $50!

  • Find out what Venture Capitals have an appetite for...it's bigger than you think!

  • Building a Brand with More Creativity than Cash

  • Will it be you?

There's a contest in today's business podcast as well. I said the first person to complete the task would get the prize, but I just found out I can give away 2! So first two respondents will be the lucky winners.

On The Air - Free Media Tips, by BJ Parker

Until next time, this is Penny Haynes, reminding you to keep on brainstorming!

    GENTLENESS. Part 2.

Brought to you by Encouraging Audiobooks, your source for family friendly audio.

The apostle Paul by way of testimony said to the Thessalonian saints, "We were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children." First Thessalonians 2, 7 Such was his manner. As a kind mother is to a delicate child, so was he to those whom he loved. Vastly different was he then from what he was when he was persecuting and wasting the church of God. He had been changed by grace. He exhorts servants of the Lord to "be gentle unto all men" , Second Timothy 2, 24, and to be "gentle, showing all meekness unto all men" , Titus 3, 2, . David, in his sublime tribute of praise to God in Second Samuel 22, 36 says, "Thy gentleness hath made me great."

Would you, my reader, like to be more gentle in your manner? Are you too harsh and rough? Are you, if a parent, as gentle to your children as you should be, at all times? Husband, are you as kind and gentle toward your wife as you should be? Do you believe you fill the Bible measure in this particular? Are you as gentle to your domestic animals as you should be? or do you have impatient feelings and act in a hasty, abrupt manner towards them? If you meet with something quite provoking from your wife or the children or the animals, do you keep as mild and sweet as you know you should? Now, I hope you will examine closely. I do not mean to condemn you; I want to help you. There are many professing saints today who are not nearly so gentle as they should be. Why not be in earnest, and seek God for help, and make improvement? Why go along with crossness, and coldness and snappishness in your life? Be gentle toward all.

Gentleness is a beauteous grace. Her excellence is great. By culture this grace is capable of much improvement. Too few saints experience it to the extent they should. I beseech you by the gentleness of Jesus to be in earnest and improve upon your gentleness. Never allow a frown or a scowl to settle for a moment upon your brow. It will leave its mark if you do so. Learn to be gentle in your home. Sometimes when far away from home, you picture to yourself how gentle and kind and loving you should be at home. By God's grace you can be just as gentle as you see in the picture you should.

Today, we respond to a listener's question: Why did God allow Kelli to suffer?

We had an anonymous commenter who asked a very serious question, and I, a listener and Terry Green attempt to share our beliefs regarding that subject. They read or listened to Kelli's story (Terry Green's testimony from last week), and was puzzled regarding why God would allow Kelli to suffer.
In the face of Katrina and Rita, suffering is a very real subject.
So we took the question seriously, and answered as best as we could. We invite you to share your response to "Curious'" question as well. If you have something to share, or a miracle that God has provided for you, please let us know. You can call it into the recording line at the http://www.WordsForTheWeek.com website, or leave your comments there, and I'll make sure they are shared with everyone.

Blessings and peace to all of you from Encouraging Audiobooks.

Many people hold misconceptions about working at home, and Dan Reinhold's "The WAHumor Way To Work At Home: Reality Check, Please!" shows you the realities you need to consider before you quit your day job.

Today, our guest, Dan Reinhold, shares important information that you need to know if you are considering working from home. There are scams to avoid, and predators to be on the lookout for - not to mention the basic misconceptions that can really knock you down after you start your new business.

PLEASE, do yourself (and us) a favor and DO SOMETHING YOU LOVE!

One of the things we discuss is how doing something you love (or doing something you despise) will greatly affect your motivation - something you need a LOT of when you start a business. Another point we deal with is how 97% of businesses crash and burn within three (3) months, and how to avoid being a part of those statistics.

Our complimentary Business Book of the Week is an excerpt from Dan's Book, called "Where Do YOU Fit?".

Help yourself to it on the DigBizBooks.com site under Special Offers. And once you've prepared yourself for the realities of working at home, I encourage you to start researching and planning for ways you can reach your goals. If you've learned anything through today's program, please share it with us on the http://www.BrainStorm-Podcast.com site.

(Kelli and her daughter prior to the accident.)

    Terry Green wrote:

Terry’s comment continued . . . Asking why God is allowing Kelly to suffer is really an open-ended question. God allows things to happen to people, because we have freedom of will. He is such a good and just God that he doesn’t force us to do anything. We choose whether or not we believe His Word or not. If we don’t “allow” him to work in our lives, He won’t overstep the rules and laws He set for Himself. What I’ve shared here doesn’t even scratch the surface. If you don’t believe that God is a loving and good God and that it’s His will that all of his children “prosper and be in health,” or that “by His (Jesus) stripes we were (past tense) healed, I can’t make you believe it. I don’t believe that God allows us to suffer. It’s just that we have freedom of will, and if we don’t believe what he’s told us in His Word, we don’t allow Him to work in situations. Although this is a very feeble attempt to show you scripturally why I believe what I believe and why I believe it down in the very depths of my heart, I still know it. I believe in the power of God. I believe in all nine manifestations of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12). I believe in miracles. I believe all of this stuff because God said it, and I believe it because I’ve seen it all over and over again. The adversary is such a sly, tricky dude, that he has tricked the church (us) of today into believing that we are powerless, and God’s Word is iffy, at best. God unleashed tremendous power when He raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Power that he gave to us via his spirit. What a sad, sad state of affairs it is for Christians today. God gave the ultimate sacrifice. . . Jesus Christ, His only begotten son, so that we could be His children again, born of His Spirit – spirit that is incorruptible and unconditional, and all Christianity can do today is say that all of that power died out with the apostles. God told me that my daughter would walk again, but he didn’t tell me when. I know that he completely healed her lungs. I know that he has healed things and done things in her body that were not possible and should never have happened. I know that he healed her of the blood clots she had in her lungs. I know that my daughter has moved toes and moved fingers and has stomach muscles, when this just isn’t possible. I’ve seen people miraculously healed when they were sick. I’ve ministered healing to my daughter and my granddaughter before and seen the healing take place right before my eyes. My daughter has healed her daughter when she was sick before and seen her healed immediately. I’ve seen God’s power in manifestation over and over and over again in my life and in the lives of other believers, so I know it’s true. Why isn’t Kelly up and walking yet? I can’t give you a definitive answer as to why she isn’t. I don’t know all of the when’s, and how’s and whys of everything God does or doesn’t do, I only know what He tells me in His word, or by revelation. And I do know that when Jesus Christ paid the price, he paid the price for our spiritual wholeness, as well as our physical wholeness. God hasn’t allowed Kelly to suffer for five years. On the contrary, He has blessed her so abundantly, beyond anyone’s comprehension. Kelly is very aware that we have an adversary, the devil, walking about – roaring and doing his best to wreak havoc and steal God’s Word out of the hearts and lives of God’s children. But she also knows that she is a spirit-filled woman of God. She knows that she is born again of God’s spirit, and in light of eternity, this life is just a moment in time. She truly believes in her heart of heart that she will walk again, because she knows that her God is a good and true and faithful God, and that Jesus Christ was a complete savior.

    Dear Curious,

My beliefs are based on almost five years of intensive study, so it’s not easy to answer your question in the space of a comment box. If you had given an honest email address, I would have been more than happy to respond by email as well. But, since you didn’t, I’ll attempt to respond as best as I can in the space given. I will also refer you to an article I wrote that was published on Sharing Spirit. It was published on Wednesday and can be found at http://www.sharingspirit.com/, and covers so much of what I don’t have room for here. The response I originally wrote took up four pages, and wouldn’t fit. If you would like, I’ll post it on a web page and give you the link. Even after trying to condense my response, I’m putting it in two comment boxes because I still can’t get it short enough to fit in one comment box. Jesus Christ was a complete savior, and his redemption took care of not only our spiritual wholeness, but our physical wholeness as well. When God poured out Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, he made it available for man to, once again, have a relationship with Him – as His children – by birth. When we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 10:9 & 10) we are filled with Holy Spirit – it is IN us. 1 Peter 1:23 says that we are born of incorruptible seed – it’s permanent. OT believers were servants, and had Holy Spirit upon, by condition. Isaiah 53:3,4 tells how Jesus bore our griefs (Hebrew word for sickness) and our pain (Hebrew word for pain). . In Matthew 26:26, at the last supper, Jesus taught his disciples about the shed blood and the broken body. Then is 1 Corinthians 30 (which was written to the church – the born again believers) states that the reason many were weak and sickly among them was because they weren’t discerning the Lord’s body. They were not remembering the broken body. That’s the Christian Church today. We remember the shed blood, but no one wants to remember the other very important aspect of our redemption – the broken body so that we could have that same wholeness physically. Jesus Christ was a complete savior. He took care of it all. God did it once and for all in Jesus Christ; we just have to believe it. Every record in the gospels where Jesus or the apostles healed someone, the Word says it was by believing (Pistis, which is the Greek word for believing). God already did it, he’s just waiting for us to believe it. 3 John 1:2 tells us that God wishes above ALL THINGS that we prosper and be in health. That’s His will for us. 1 Peter 2:24 tells us that by His stripes (Jesus Christ) we were healed. It’s in the past tense because it’s already done. Psalms 107:20 says that God sent His Word and healed us. God knew that people wouldn’t believe, because he also tells us in Acts 28:27 and again in John 12:40 that Israel’s heart was hardened and their eyes blinded “lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.” (continued in next comment box)

Dear Curious, although I cannot attempt to explain why God allows bad things to happen, I only know that He does.

In Job, He allowed one of His most devoted children to suffer.
In 1st Peter, the epistle talks about how we may suffer for a while, but after that, there is great joy.
Lamentations says God will not afflict forever, but will then turn to us in kindness.
The psalms are filled with David asking God "Why"?
And even Jesus, on the cross, asked God why He had deserted His only Son.

I only know this - God says in Corinthians that He will not give us more than we can bear. Satan's most important attack is to try and make us think God is not good, but God is completely good, although we cannot understand what He does or why He does it. But He says the rain falls on the just as well as the unjust - it's only the just that have His comfort and power, and can be assured that the suffering will be redeemed and God will somehow be glorified and His plan furthered. Why did He allow Lazarus to die and stay in the grave several days? So that His glory and power would be made known to all the surrounding peoples. It is not much comfort when you are suffering, I know...but I have to believe what the scriptures say, or I have nothing on which to base my faith. ~~Penny~~

Learn the difference between targeted, search-engine advertising and brand advertising.

Louis does a great job explaining what it is, and why you should use it. We discuss how and when to use each type of advertising, and also how much money you can get away with spending to check out your market.

Major corporations are moving the majority of their money into internet advertising, but major media firms are nervous about moving into that realm.

    GENTLENESS. Part 1.

Fruit-bearing trees are used in the Scriptures to represent the race of mankind. The Savior likens the wicked to "corrupt trees," which bear evil fruit and the righteous to "good trees" which bear good fruit , Matthew 7, 15, 20, . He also teaches very emphatically the impossibility of one's being a good tree and yet bearing evil fruit, or of being a corrupt tree and bearing good fruit. Since the nature of the fruit we bear determines what manner of tree we are, it is very advisable that we as professing Christians should frequently examine the fruit we are bearing. To be Christ's, or to be a Christian, we must have the Spirit of Christ; for the Scriptures say that "if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his" , Romans 8, 9.

As certainly as cause produces effect, those who have the Spirit of Christ bear the fruit of the Spirit. Not to bear the fruit of the Spirit is full proof that you have not the Spirit. Then a close examination of the fruit you are bearing will reveal to you whether or not you have the Spirit of Christ, whether or not you are his, whether or not you are a Christian. You can make a superficial examination, and allow yourself to be deceived. You can make excuses for yourself because of your weaknesses, and thus deceive yourself. But a close, thorough, profound examination will disclose to each one the manner of spirit he is of.

    "BE DOERS OF THE WORD."

I want to remind you again that the mission of this little volume is to teach you how to live. The life beyond depends on the life here. Let me emphasize what I have repeatedly said before, to live as we should, we must live by every word of God. To live by every word of God is not only to hear it but also to do it. We have learned that, in order to enter the city of God and eat of the tree of life, we must do his commandments, and also that it is not "every one that sayeth, Lord, Lord, that shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."

Now I will read you a text from the Epistle of James, "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves." We are living in a careless age. The Word of God is being treated with neglect. Many are hearing it, [Read More!]
