Observation and Mindfulness.
These are the two skills that are so important for a songwriter to get more out of their chosen craft. We look at the world through our own eyes (our own camera lens) and perceptions based on our experiences in life and the best thing that we can do for our songwriting is to slow down.

Never throw anything away, ever.

Songwriting - What is it really?
"Whoa!!" You maybe saying to yourself. To a songwriter that question is like asking a philosopher "why are we here?"
The reason why I'm asking is that I feel that we as songwriters generally overlook the most important aspects of what we do.
