EMAILINSIDER... The Hudsucker Proxie by Bill
McCloskey
ONE OF the loopholes in the Can-Spam laws is in the area
of identification. The laws require the sender of an e-mail solicitation to
identify themselves via postal address in the email body. Anyone who has
actually gone to some of these addresses listed in many high volume e-mail
addresses (like I have) will soon discover that they are standing in front of
the local UPS store and a bank of rented mail boxes. In fact, I would venture to
guess that if they passed legislation banning e-mail completely, we’d see UPS’
revenue take a big hit.

Marketing Your Shows the 4 C's Wayby Susan Friedman
Traditional marketing is changing: Customers are more sophisticated and
price sensitive. They expect products and services to be delivered
faster and more conveniently. And they have no qualms about switching
to competitors.
At the same time, traditional marketing tools are less effective than
in the past. Products are not much different from each other, pricing
is quickly matched by competitors, advertising is expensive and less
effective, and sales force costs are rising.

blogosphere, which he’s described as a “weird no man’s land,” need some form of
protection. The group has developed an International Bloggers’ Bill of Rights, a
petition designed to protect the free speech of bloggers who are often

How To Use Color On The Web To Get More Clients Than You Can Handleby Michael Port and Beth M. Lyons
You only have one opportunity to make a first impression, and your
website is often the first contact you have with a potential client. As
a representation of you and your business, it's important to ensure it
conveys the right impression.
Color can impact mood and elicit strong emotional reactions, which can
play for or against you, so choose your colors thoughtfully. Choose two
or three dominant colors, and choose those that represent the qualities
of your service or product, or the emotions you hope to elicit, rather
than choosing your personal favorites.
Here's a brief overview of the psychology of color to keep in mind when choosing your colors:

Making Up A News Story, Legallyby Paul Hartunian
Most businesses have their 'heroes'. They're the trend-setters who lay the foundation for the rest to follow.
In the publicity business, the real trend-setters are the Press Agents. They're the people who literally 'create' news stories.
They're people like George Evans. His company was hired to take a
relatively unknown Vegas lounge singer called Frank Sinatra and try to
make him into a star. Evans hired a dozen girls, at $5 each, to jump
and scream 'Oh Frankie, Oh Frankie' and toss flowers at the stage. They
met and practiced in the basement at the Paramount Casino where Sinatra
was performing.
Jack Keller, Evan's West Coast partner explains what happened:

Back in December, instant-messaging (IM) management company IMLogic partnered with security companies McAfee and Sybari (recently acquired by Microsoft)

peer-to-peer and IM threats, such as viruses, worms, spim and malicious

Learn The Five Key Steps To Getting Free Publicityby Dianne Beiermann
1) Website Focus: Make sure your site is focused on a
specific category of products. I cannot stress this enough.
The editors will often check to see if your site features
products that are in the same category as your product
press release. This is one of the key ways you can get free
publicity for your products. Because when you send out a
press release on a new product, the editors will check your
site to make sure that you offer similar products. Once
they see that you offer a wide range of products in this
same category, you will greatly improve your chances for
getting free publicity for your products and website.

No Protection for Bloggers by Adam L. Penenberg
Over the past eight months, bloggers have covered two political
conventions; claimed credit for forcing the resignations of two
prominent journalists (soon-to-be former CBS news anchor Dan Rather,
ex-CNN news chief Eason Jordan); outed a conservative faker with a
taste for gay porn credentialed to cover the White House; and risen
from relative obscurity to media darling. They've done this while
attracting impressive levels of web traffic (and advertising dollars)
and conjuring up a cottage industry and community devoted largely to,
well, themselves.
Now, with two reporters from established news organizations facing
jail time for defying an order to divulge confidential sources to a
federal grand jury, bloggers are clamoring for the same legal
protection that journalists are accorded under the First Amendment.

People DO NOT Buy From Websites......
Copyright © 2004 Mal Keenan
Of course the title of this article IS NOT complete as $1,000,000s on
sales are made every day by website owners. What it should have read to
be more accurate was "People DO NOT buy from websites....they buy from
other people".
For a long time online I believed it was only a matter of putting a
website online and that the rest would fall into place. The sales would
roll in and if I created the perfect website and sent some targeted
visitors consistently then I would be rich. This idea was very far from
the whole truth.

himself.
The column gained popularity in business circles for its plain wisdom

found young Adams facing a new marketing challenge bestowed upon him by
his employer. His knack for finding the solutions which hid in plain

Hello Online Marketers! Yes, I said Business Card CD! I got mine and they are da bomb, let me tell you! I was thinking a CD for a business card...hmm might be kind of big, lol! Nope these are way cool because they are only slightly larger than a standard business card. They look like a business card with all your traditional information: Logo, photo, graphics, slogan, email address, URLs, etc. The big difference is that these can be popped into your desktop or laptop and LISTENED TO! I got mine, sat down and listened to it and I wanted to hire myself, LOL!
Truly though these are the only business cards I'll be ordering from now on. Penny Haynes, the CEO of Encouraging Entertainment does these cards and she included background music and editing for me on mine. It sounds so professional and think about it - you'll stand out just for having a business card that actually TALKS! You can showcase your expertise, include an ebook, include ereports, showcase your industry, whatever! These are a MUST HAVE. So read on to see how you can get yours. Penny is NOT paying me, I don't have an affiliate deal in this, I just thought this would be a great promotional tool to offer you...Just listen in to my testimonial here http://tinyurl.com/6jj9x
