Let's trade links!
By Joe Sansoucie 2004
Trading links between webmasters is not a really new idea. It's been around as long as I have been on the Internet some 10 years now. It's easy enough to understand and implement for even the greenest of newbies and snap to do in 5 minutes for the more experienced webmaster.
One thing for sure it always proved to drive more traffic to my website and the link partners I had.
If you don't know what link trading is all about then step inside and pull up a chair and I promise to show you some new tricks to getting more traffic as well as how to get paid for the traffic you do get.

Are you in business to make a good income as you learn reasonable business skills that will allow this success, or are you in some business, busy being busy?
Successful business practice is a daily routine of how to build responsive leads lists by earning respect and credibility in the eyes of the people you connect with.
In other words, you are building a solid relationship by sharing information of value to the people you want to be a part of your business. You reach out, test and then qualify the real value of your contact.
Busy being busy people load the net with direct ads that end up under the delete key.

Now that is one heck of a claim! Is it really possible? Is there a program out there that can get me out of the Spam Hell Hole? Well the answer is yes and no.
At this point there isn't any program available that can clean the spam from your inbox totally, as each time a new filter is designed to combat the onslot of unsolicited e-mail arriving daily in your inbox the spammers find away around it. And now the SPAMers have come up with a new twist to add to your e-mail woes by hijacking your domain. This means using your e-mail address as a return address for their spam. A very informative article by Jim Gray co-founder of Quikonnex titled Are you an unwilling spammer shows you how they do it. Now this means you not only receive all the spam your used to but you get the added onslot of return mail from those spam messages they sent everyone else.
All that and the added bonus of being server blacklisted and accused of spamming yourself, from email you never sent.
Is there a solution?

The Spam Focus Has Shifted
By Trina L.C. Schiller
It appears that not all government employees are out of touch, when it comes to the woes of email marketing. The FTC has decided against the No Email List. From the way it looks, they powers that be, are actually trying to take a realistic look at the spam problem for what it is.
In a statement made by FTC Chairman

Hi Trii,
I agree with you 200% ... Ken Evoy of Site Sell has written this:
http://deliver-my-mail.site...
It IS a rather LONG read, but it is well written and thought out.
With all of the respect in the world, I'm of the opinion email can never be 'fixed' ... to where it's a reliable and trustworthy medium for communicating ... to where it was a year ago ... or two years ago.
Seems to me a lot of folks are spending a ton of money trying to 'fix' (stop) spam.

Why won't folks open their eyes and look at Quick View ... AND the free message center, where you'll never get an attachment with a wicked virus lurking within, like you do with email?
I am definitely not looking forward to some of the solutions propsed by the ISPs. It is clear that they are using spam as a way to make a power play for advertising control.
If the FTC is going to do something, the first step would be in regulating the ISPs themselves. Then they need to address the forgery problem and hijacking issue on a global basis, rather than thinking they are the almighty power that can control what goes on throughout the rest of the world.
Trii,
I have to agree with you about the CAN-SPAM Act being totally ineffectual. Perhaps we placed too many hopes on it but many publishers were at the point of quitting publishing altogether because the spam issue was out of control - for me that was a year and a half ago.
Since the implementation of the Act, spam has definitely increased and there are more instances of hijacking - so where does it end? If the email protocol can't be 'fixed' so that these crooks can't forge headers and use our addresses, then we should stop using email altogether and stick with the Quikonnex QMTP system. That works for me!

Spam is totally out of control and it doesn't appear that the situation will improve any time soon. eMail is no longer the effective, easy to use tool it once was. In fact today you run the risk of losing your entire business. How is this possible?
The reason is because spammers have become

Why Budding NetPreneurs Fail At Internet Marketing
Copyright 2004, Chuck Huckaby
NetPreneurs fail all too often because they wrongly assume
that marketing on the Net is a "no cost business" when, in
reality it is simply a low cost or targeted cost business.
The most successful NetPreneurs invest either targeted
advertising dollars AND/OR targeted "sweat equity" in order
to generate a steady flow of traffic to their websites.
Without traffic, NO product ever sells.
Many would be NetPreneurs understimate the amount of traffic
that is actually required to create and sustain a business
though. They will join free "safelists" and blast away often ill
conceived or "me too" messages to thousands of names without
realizing that, for the most part, participants on the list
are all looking to sell - not buy.
If asked,

Every day, more...
Every day, more and more gurus are seeing the benefits and
making the transition from email before it's too late. It's
also pretty clear that the advice they're all giving is more to
their benefit than yours.
Maybe I was a little too optimistic. Other than an article
by Corey Rudl and one by Shelly Lowery, there wasn't much
to read regarding RSS feeds. James Maduk has a nice piece
on his site about blogs, but goes on to point out that
