Scam? - You've won a Microsoft X-Box

This is a very suspicious site. The received email said that I'd definitely won an X-Box. The claim was that someone had entered my email address in at their site and so this was not spam. So I decided to check this spammer out. I was shocked to see the way that they may be trying to fool folks.

Domain Piracy

Can your domain be moved to a new registrar without your consent? The answer is now yes. On 11-12-04 ICANN changed their domain name transfer policy where registrars must honor transfer requests even if you do not confirm the request for transfer.

Online Extortion

Imagine running a successful website and getting an email demanding that you pay $500.00 so that your site will remain in operation. The SANS (SysAdmin, Audit, Network, Security) Institute reports that six or seven thousand organizations are paying online extortion demands (see ZDNet).
