Older Operating Systems will soon lack security

In a ZDNet Article it's being reported that Microsoft will stop providing security updates for Windows 98,NT,2000, etc.... all but Windows XP SP2. This will force people to either upgrade or buy a new computer. In either case, Microsoft stands to earn a few bucks off this decision

Microsoft creates JPEG Image Vulnerability

Graphics used to be safe, until Microsoft got their hands on them. JPEG images are processed by Windows using a program called GDI+ (Graphics Device Interface). Bottom line, Microsoft left a hole in it whereas a user's computer could be attacked. The hole would allow a JPEG image file to run a malicious program on a victim's computer as soon as the file is viewed.
