Are you a Democrat, Republican or Southerner?

Here is a little test that will help you decide. The answer can be found by posing the following question:

You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children. Suddenly, an Islamic Terrorist with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, praises Allah, raises the knife, and charges at you. You are carrying a Glock cal 40, and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do?

Democrat's Answer:
Well, that's not enough information to answer the question! Does the man look poor! Or oppressed? Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack? Could we run away? What does my wife think? What about the kids? Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand? What does the law say about this situation? Does the Glock have appropriate safety built into it? Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does this send to society and to my children? Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me? Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound me? If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me? Should I call 911? Why is this street so deserted? We need to raise taxes, have a paint and weed day and make this a happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior. This is all so confusing! I need to debate this with some friends for few days and try to come to a consensus.

Dumb Driven Cattle Syndrome:

Norman Thomas, an early leader in the American socialist movement promoted the concept that Americans would never knowingly adopt socialism but, under the name of liberalism, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program until one day America will be a socialist nation without ever knowing how it happened!

Boy was Norman on the mark with this statement! Few realize that Liberalism IS Socialism. Everything Leberals are FOR, Socialism is FOR. Think about it - or do I have to spell it out for you? Let me know in the comment section.

On this 5th anniversary of 9/11, I send out this note with hopes you are willing to support one of the men and women serving our country overseas. I have several troops who are back for a second tour and are asking me to find them someone, as the support they received the first time helped them make it through. It's quite amazing what a card and a pack of M&M's can do! I also have the 310th MPB as our key unit to send some cheer to. They arrived in Iraq in August and will be there one year.

Remember we need to ship packages at LEAST 5 or 6 weeks before a holiday to be sure our troops get them in time. Eight weeks before Christmas is not too early if we want decorations to arrive two weeks ahead of Christmas Day. So, plan ahead with your families and school groups to get Christmas goodies and decorations out just after Halloween and definitely by the week before Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving and New Year's Day are good days to send packages for too. Remember your local "Dollar Store" is a cheap way to buy holiday decorations.

One way or another, the Liberals WILL WIN!
Can’t get elected? Trash the Electoral College. After the 2000 election, Hillary Clinton went on record to say that the Electoral College should be abolished. Her sentiment was shared by Democrats nationwide who felt they had been cheated, but as time passed, the drive to follow through with this foolish idea died down. That is until last week, when the California legislature passed a bill to award the state’s Electoral College votes to the winner of the national popular vote, California voters be damned. If this rule were in place in 2004, George W. Bush would have received California’s 55 electoral votes despite the fact that John Kerry won the state by nearly 10 percent.

As former Delaware Governor Pete DuPont noted in an essay this week, such a move would be a disaster for the American electoral system. There are important reasons why the Founders opted against the direct election of the president, first among them being to avoid geographically narrow campaigns. In modern times, this would translate to urban areas and urban issues dominating the elections. Fraud would be easier to commit and become more rampant, with magical votes popping up in cities across the country. It would also lead to candidates running on narrow issues rather than crafting an agenda for the entire country. As a consequence, the president would be elected by a plurality rather than a majority, leading to a weak executive without a broad mandate.

Our nation has not “outgrown” the Electoral College as liberals will claim. The Founders knew what they were doing when they crafted our constitutional republic, and we should respect that knowledge, and not change it to suit our whims.
