In combining forces with Iron Port, corporate network administrators will be offered Iron Port's mail transfer agent, along with Microsoft's 'Smart Screen' filtering technology to implement Bonded Sender. 'Smart Screen' is a 'filtering technology.' It is an add on to the Mail Transfer Agent. The particular MTA offered by Microsoft is called 'Exchange Server.' (I say this only because much of what is discussed in the article has been floating around for a while in published material. It is however a good presentation of the issues.) Turning to the boycott issue, there is another reason as to why Bonded Sender is bad news. The US Senate Committee on Commerce, Science & Technology had a hearing today on the topic of spam. Guess who was invited to appear? Why, none other than Mr. Ronald Scelson of Scelson Online Marketing, Inc.

Is the "IronPort" Whitelist Actually An Extortion Tactic Targeting Small, But Legitimate Email Marketers? - by Jim Edwards (c) Jim Edwards - All Rights reserved http://www.thenetreporter.com -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- It appears that Mr. Gates' prophetic prediction that charging marketers to send email across the Microsoft email networks (MSN and Hotmail) to cut down on Sp*m is about to come true. According to CIO Today, Microsoft is now employing "IronPort Anti-Spam Technology." "IronPort" is a paid "white-list" for people who send "mass email" (including newsletter publishers, ezine publishers, affiliate managers, mini-course operators, and basically anyone who has a list of opt-in emails). If you send any type of email where you do a broadcast to everyone on your list, this applies to you. If you want your email broadcasts to get through their filters, you must pay a hefty fee and post a "bond." Here are some facts about this developing story: 1. They charge by how much email you send a month, but the minimum charge is a: $375 Application Fee, plus $500 Annual License Fee, plus $500 "Bond" fee. That's $1,375.00 just to get in the game. If you want to see the complete breakdown, go here https://www.bondedsender.com/fees.jsp 2. If you go over the "complaint" threshold of 1 complaint per month, then they will debit $20 from your bond fee for each complaint to "fine" you for being naughty.

Hi Phillip,
This is absolutely outrageous. IronPort purchases the SpamCop list for a million bucks and all of a sudden they are the good guys.
These fees are crazy for the little guy. CAN-SPAM which was so promising has done nothing to decrease my spam. It has steadily increased since its implementation. Last week I received 34,531 messages of which 202 were legitimate. I wish someone would pay me for the junk in my Inbox.

I remember the old days in network marketing, where new companies would pop-up, recruiting anyone that had a pulse and could leave a 'dot' on the mirror when held under their nose ... it was considered a bonus if you got two dots (just kidding). They promised "Don't worry ... we'll build your downline for you. At first glance, or hearing, that sounds good .. less stress and work for the new recruit. However, it seems to promote two different thoughts for me. First, If you're going to do it for me, what in the world do you need me for? And, are you going to put like minded people in my downline? Isn't this a guaranteed way to build a 'dead leg'?

Good article Phillip! I'll continue along with Dane's comment. I really think you should continue along this line some more. There's so much to be said on this subject about the reality of building an online business (or offline). Network Marketing can be a viable business for some folks, the problem is.. most folks getting involved still have an employee mindset. Treat an MLM like a real business, and it may very well perform like one for you. Setting goals, performance measurements, etc... sounds like a business plan to me.
Hi Dane,
Thanks for the heads up :)
The article is now complete ... not quite sure WHAT happened, but it's done now :)
Phillip
Were you planing on developing this thought any further?

Hits are ONLY a part of sales success.
Part 5
They get visitors to view your offer. That is something we ALL need. Even when you take proactive steps to Improve your conversion rate, you must look at the total picture.
** Be sure you reduce the number of clicks to your desired action..too many ruin the sale.
** Investigate and Identify any drop-off spots and get rid of them.
**Identify detours and bottlenecks in order to improve traffic flow.
** Study your Conversion Rate: Do you have any idea what percentage of your visitors are being converted? Keep looking for good sources that will assist you in converting visitors. ( yes, that Trusted Traffic Master, again )

There are many ways to generate TRAFFIC to your website.
Part 4
Will they all create sales? NOT on your life. A fine tuned, PPC advertising campaign with optimized search terms, can bring you website visitors at an acquisition cost of pennies-per-click. Are sales guaranteed? I suggest you look around and find your answer to this question! You also must understand precisely how this works. Once visitors are on your website, great navigation is an absolute necessity to ensure that the traffic you worked so very hard to get to your website, will also find what they want, if you have it.
Do you have any idea of just how many clicks stand between your site visitors and the outcome that you desire, which is making sales? There are very obvious drop-off points between adding-items-to-the-cart and actually checking out?
Drop-off points commonly called abandonment points are spots where visitors just leave your site. In some cases getting rid of a click, leak, or drop-off spot might lead to a substantial increase in your conversion rate. Your remedy is to determine if there could be some trend which can be identified when these incomplete sales take place. Bottlenecks and detour spots must be fixed because this can shorten the path to desired actions, that lead to website sales!

Conversion Rates --->> Hits to Sales
Part 3
Your website conversion rate should tell you how many of your visitors are being converted from visitors into personal clients, customers, leads, or subscribers. If you do not currently have this capability, research free webmaster tools and you will be able to locate some very decent places, even free ! Your website text, navigation and a lot of other things determine whether or not you're doing a proper sales job. You can't blame traffic hits if you lose visitors, without making a sale. Hits are NOT sales. Hits are usually and casually referred to as visitors. The Traffic Master's job is to deliver visitors..."not" make sales for you. Many people believe they will make a lot of sales with just visitors.
