I am a little "Wii-Tarded" but...

We got a Wii two Christmases ago like a lot of people did. I was looking forward to getting Wii-fit..lol... Now I want to share my Wii experience.

I love the Wii! The technology still blows my mind! It is incredible that it can do so much and is the size of a modem. It can see your movements with that cool little bar on that you put on top of your TV, and with the Wii fit even tell if you are keeping time with the music or doing the exercises. That is too incredible!! This Christmas I got the Wii Fit Plus, a great ehancement that was actually cheap! It increases what you can do, counts the calories you burn in your workout and offers new excercises, improves some of the old ones and is really FUN!!!

One of the upgrades to the Wii has been the motion Controller. It is slightly extended at the bottom and gives users better control over the motions involved. It makes it even more fun that it was. It is required for the Wii Sports Resort,  (one comes with the game) which offers even more ways to have fun and stay active!

I was hoping to concentrate on this for half an hour every other day and over time get the balancing act together! Balance has a lot to do with your posture. As we age (I am trying to do it gracefully) our posture can change and we compensate by using the wrong parts of our body to do everday things. So far in a year and a half I only make it once or twice a week.

Just in Time for Father's Day

Wii is not just "another video game". The technology allows for so much, like even improving your GOLF SWING!! My dad would have loved it!!! The Wii Fit Plus offers golf as one of the excercises and monitors your swing for you. They also have some awesome golf games, but realize you have to get up and move..swing like you mean it! I watched several men play at my brother-in-law's house. The competition was fierce!! (These are not young men either.)

Wii-Hab anyone?

Recently a news channel here televised a story about Wii-Hab. Some of the therapy places here are using Wii 's for therapy for knee surgery patients and knee replacement patients. They find it is less boring for people to interact with the Wii than to work on individual routines and equipment. It is successfully keeping people on the move to recover more quickly.
